After looking around the net, and not being able to find a Fishing Rod Holder for my bicycle that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I decided to make my own. This is a simple walk through of how i made it. I made this one for a Mongoose Mtn. bike, but with a little modification it should work on any bike.
PVC Bicycle Fishing Rod Holder Materials: 2 1/2 PVC Pipe Saw Dremmel (Sanding Drum / Cutter Bit) Drill (1/2 in. Bit/ 3/8in. Bit) Sand Paper Paint First look at where your going to mount the Rod Holder.
Nest thing is take your PVC and cut it to a length of 8 1/4 in. and lay out the cut holes like the image. You will have to takea pencil and mark the bolt holes from the rear side to get itto line up correctly.
After you have it layed take your Dremel and the cutting bit and cut the slot for the Rod.
Next cut the mounting holes.
You also need to cut a access hole in the front of the Rod Holder to beable to get to the bolts to mount the holder to the frame.
After you have everything cut out, test fit to the bike to make sure everything fits all right. If everything fits all right, it's time to sand it down and get some paint on it. After you get it all painted up it's time to mount it to the bicycle, and head down the trail to nearest fishing hole.
